Ajwain / Omam

Native to India and Pakistan, the Ajwain plant has many medicinal properties. Both the leaves and fruits of this plant are consumed by humans as food and medicine. The seeds of this plant resemble cumin, but its taste is slightly bitter & harsher than anise and oregano. The seeds also have the properties of thymol so they are more fragrant and less flavorful. Omam is used as a medicinal plant in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
